PeteSearch For Firefox

May 8th, 2007 · No Comments

I could not dare pass this one up. There’s a new Firefox add-on that works with Ask.com, Google.com and Live.com and it’s called PeteSearch - YES! Here’s a summary from ResourceShelf:

What does PeteSeach offer?

1) PeteSearch will find the links that point to external pages that the engine has found. The plugin will first check to make sure the pages still exist, and then look at the contents of each page to make surethey contain the words you looked for.
2) The text page icon brings up a summary showing where the search terms are used on the page.
3) The magnifier icon brings a live version of the page up in a temporary popup window. Similar to what Clusty does with the magnifying glass icon next to each Clusty result. This idea needs work. Closing a preview box needs to be easier.
4) Learn about keyboard shortcuts here.

This is the ultimate “Why didn’t I think of that?” moment!
